Scope and disclosures
Before you engage us.
What The Exosome Group does and doesn’t do, what is out of scope, and the founder’s other businesses.
What we do
The Exosome Group designs and manages exosome and extracellular vesicle characterization studies for skincare, wellness and supplement brands and ingredient suppliers, and writes independent reviews of exosome claims. Studies run at independent laboratories named in each study plan. Claim reviews are based on the documents a client provides and on public information.
What we don’t do
- We don’t operate our own laboratory. Every measurement runs at an independent laboratory named before work starts.
- We issue no certification, seal, badge or “verified by” mark, and our name never goes on client packaging.
- Our work is not legal or regulatory advice. Claim decisions stay with the client.
- Payment is for the work, not the result.
Out of scope
Injectable, IV and mesotherapy products, and any company with a current FDA warning letter.
Conflicts of interest
Our founder also owns a wellness practice and a supplement line. Some of those supplements use exosome wording on their labels. The founder also has pending patent applications related to extracellular vesicles.
We decline work for supplement brands that compete with that line, and any work where we would have a stake in the answer. We name any conflict, and the businesses involved, in writing before an engagement starts.
Confidentiality
We sign a mutual NDA before any confidential document changes hands. We never publish a client’s name or products, or any finding that could identify them.
Words we use
We use “exosome” when we talk about the market, because it is the word on the shelf. Our reports use “extracellular vesicle,” as MISEV2023 recommends, unless the data shows endosomal origin.
